The Wildcats finish out their season 14-16 overall

AKRON, Ohio – Freshman Sabrina Reynolds (Muncy) had a hit and an RBI as the Pennsylvania College of Technology softball team lost 9-1 to #3 St. Joseph’s (NY) in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships. The game was a consolation game for both teams having lost the first two games in the double elimination tournament. The game is also the last for the Wildcats who finish out 2011 14-16 overall.

After a scoreless first inning, St. Joseph’s put up six in the second off of six hits. Sophomore Amber Eck (Williamsport) doubled to lead off the third. Reynolds singled a batter later to give the team its only run of the game.

A three-run sixth for St. Joseph’s put the game out reach as it ended an inning early. Senior Tiffany Deihm (Mohnton) gets the loss pitching in just two innings. Sophomore Lacy Lose (Avis) came in relief and struck out eight with three earned runs.

As a team, the Wildcats had six hits leaving five on-base in the game. Junior Erin Bannon (Williamsport) and sophomores Desiree Buffington (Pillow), Michelle Goodling (Renovo) and Lose each had hits.
