Junior Harrison Myers struck out seven in the win
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology put on an offensive show as they defeated Penn State Beaver 13-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference playoffs Saturday afternoon. Junior Harrison Myers (Lebanon) recorded the victory pitching seven strong and striking out seven. He allowed only three hits the entire game.
The game was scoreless in the first five innings before Penn College (22-10, 13-8) put up six in the sixth off of five hits. Senior Ethan Boyd (Roaring Spring) and sophomore Ryan Weachock (Pottsville) each had two RBIs with Weachock hitting a double to the right center gap.
The Wildcats followed up with seven in the seventh. Junior Jared Johnson (Wyalusing) hit a two RBI single while junior Brett Braker (Northampton) had an RBI off a sacrifice fly.
For the game, junior Thomas Hughes (Easton) had three hits including a double. Junior Garrett Hornung (Emporium) had two singles and an RBI while sophomore Matthew King (Southampton) added two hits to the mix.
Penn College will take on the loser of #1 Penn State Greater Allegheny and #2 Penn State Brandywine following the game.
