Freshman Sabrina Reynolds hit two home runs in the split

HAZLETON, Pa. – Freshman Sabrina Reynolds (Muncy) had two home runs and three RBI as the Pennsylvania College of Technology split with Penn State Hazleton in conference action Wednesday. The Wildcats lost the opener 6-5 but came back to take game two 9-4. Sophomore Lacy Lose (Jersey Shore) earned the win with a season high 11 strikeouts in seven innings.

In game one, Penn College (8-10, 4-2 PSUAC) took the lead in the third off a solo shot from Reynolds. The Lions came back to score three in the fourth before Reynolds tied it up in the fifth with a two-run home run. Down 5-4 in the seventh, Lose hit an RBI single to equalize but Hazleton came back in the bottom of the inning to score one for the victory.

In game two, Lose pitched a gem giving up only one earned run. Senior Trisha Moser (Watsontown) hit an RBI single in the first. The Wildcats scored six in the second capped off by a two RBI single from Moser.

Hazleton chipped away at the lead, but Penn College added three more insurance runs to seal the win. Also for the Wildcats, freshman Chelsea Hewitt (Shippensburg) had three hits.

Penn College travels to Penn State Scranton for a noon doubleheader on Fri., April 22.
