Sophomore Amber Eck led the Wildcats with three hits

HARRISBURG, Pa. –Despite three hits and an RBI from sophomore Amber Eck (Williamsport), the Pennsylvania College of Technology softball team was swept 11-3 and 11-4 in non-conference action against Penn State Harrisburg Friday. The Lions put on an offensive show racking up 30 hits between the two games.

In the opener, Penn College (7-9, 3-1 PSUAC) opened up the game with two runs including an RBI sac fly from sophomore Amanda Baney (Williamsport). The Lions came back to tie in the bottom of the inning off of four hits.

Baney finished the game with a hit and 2 RBI.

Harrisburg scored five over the next three innings to build a cushion. The Wildcats scored their last run of the game in the fifth when Baney singled to score junior Stacey Rupp (Gettysburg) who led the inning off with a single.

For the game, Penn College notched five hits.

In game two, the Lions scored two runs in the first to take an early lead. Penn College was hitless in the first three innings before breaking out four hits and scoring four in the fourth. Baney hit an RBI triple to score senior Trisha Moser (Watsontown) who singled. Eck also hit an RBI single in the inning.

Eck ended the game with two hits.

This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams with Penn College the victor 4-2 on Mar. 11.

The Wildcats get back into conference action on Tues., April 19 when they travel to Penn State Hazleton for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
