Sophomore Ryan Weachock had three hits and three RBIs

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior Brett Braker (Northampton) had four hits and five RBIs to help the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team swept the Luzerne County Community College 8-4 and 11-3 Sunday. Sophomore Ryan Weachock (Pottsville) added three hits and three RBIs as the Wildcats improve to 9-2 overall.

In the opener, Garrett Hornung hit an RBI double in the first to put Penn College on the board. The team scored two runs in the next two innings to go up 5-0.

After Luzerne scored two in the top of the fourth, junior Skylar Gingrich (Lititz) hit a three run home run to make the lead 8-2. Luzerne scored two more runs in the top of the seventh. Junior Harrison Myers (Lebanon) recorded the win with three strikeouts.

Game two was all Penn College. Senior Ethan Boyd (Roaring Spring) started it off in the first with an RBI single. Braker hit an RBI triple in the second followed by an RBI single from freshman Christian Calle (Williamsport). Calle was perfect at the plate with two hits in the game.

The Wildcats put four more runs on the board in the third including an RBI double from Weachock. They put up four more runs in the next two innings to put it out of reach for Luzerne. Freshman Jarod Bull (Jacobus) was on point in six innings of work notching seven strikeouts and giving up only five hits.

Penn College next travels to King’s College for a doubleheader on March 23 at 2 p.m.
