Penn College scored a run against SUNY IT with three consecutive singles in the fourth
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology softball lost 9-1 to SUNY-IT and 10-0 to Dakota State University as it competed in the Snowbird Softball tournament in Myrtle Beach Wednesday. The Wildcats are winless in the tournament so far facing strong competition.
Penn College (0-6) put a run across the plate in the top of the fourth against SUNYIT. Sophomore Desiree Buffington (Pillow) hit a single to start off the inning. Senior Trisha Moser (Watsontown) singled to move Buffington into scoring position followed by an RBI single from sophomore Amanda Baney (Williamsport). The Wildcats committed three errors in the game to allow six unearned runs.
The Wildcats faced their toughest opponent of the tournament against Dakota State. Penn College was hitless in the game while Dakota State put on an offensive show.
Penn College will take on Penn State Harrisburg and Southern Vermont College in the final day of competition for the tournament on March 10.
