The Wildcats swept Bloomsburg and Lock Haven in conference action
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s volleyball team swept Bloomsburg and Lock Haven universities in conference, tri-match action Saturday. The Wildcats now improve to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in the MACVC Northwest.
Penn College started off action with Bloomsburg. It was a tough set one as the Huskies opened on a 7-4 run. The Wildcats went through an entire rotation without getting any points on serve. Senior Andrew Epley’s (Littlestown) serve gave the team a 7-0 run. They held on for the 25-20 victory. Sets two and three were stronger for Penn College as it cruised to 25-14 and 25-12 wins.
Epley ended the match with nine kills while sophomores Michael Smith (Pleasantville, N.J.) and Adam Smith (Duncannon) each added eight. Sophomore Brad Kabosky (Hunlock Creek) racked up a season high 32 assists.
It was a similar story against Lock Haven in set one. The Wildcats were down before sophomore Jared Palko (Waymart) served the team to a lead. They ended the game 25-19. Penn College easily took sets two and three 25-10 and 25-21 respectively.
Palko notched 10 digs. Smith had a season high 16 kills and Epley added 12. Kabosky topped his first game assists with 43.
The Wildcats will travel to Kutztown University for a two-day tournament starting on Saturday, Feb. 19.
