Sophomore Brad Kabosky had 18 assists in the loss

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s volleyball team fell 3-1 to Villanova University in Mid-Atlantic Club Volleyball Conference action Sunday. The match was a scorcher with two of the four games going over regulation scoring. Sophomore Adam Smith (Duncannon) led the team with nine kills. Penn College now opens the season 0-1.

The Wildcats victory came in the opening set when they cruised to a 25-16 victory. Despite having leads in the second and third games, they lost 27-25 and 29-27, respectively. They opened up the fourth with a 10-2 run, before Villanova called a timeout. It would shift the momentum as Penn College dropped the set 25-22.

As a team, Penn College had 30 kills and seven aces.

Also for the Wildcats, senior Andrew Epley (Littlestown) and junior James Fortenberry (Lemoyne) each had seven kills. Fortenberry also notched four aces and two digs.

Penn College will next travel to Harrisburg Area Community College for a tri match that includes Shippensburg University on Sunday, Feb 6 at 1:30 p.m.
