Freshman Marissa Player combined with Lacy Lose for the shared shutout in the Wildcat's 10-0 win
MCKEESPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Amanda Baney (Williamsport) notched five hits including three home runs to help the Pennsylvania College of Technology softball team sweep Penn State Greater Allegheny 12-4 and 10-2 in Penn State University Athletic Conference action Sunday. The wins come after three weeks off due to weather postponements.
In the opener, senior Tiffany Diehm (Mohnton) recorded the win pitching four innings of shutout ball. Penn College (6-6, 2-0 PSUAC) got off to a strong start scoring five runs in the first two innings. Baney had three hits in the game with a home run and double. Freshman Sabrina Reynolds (Warrior Run) racked up two hits including a home run.
In game two, freshman Marissa Player (Albion) and sophomore Lacy Lose (Jersey Shore) combined for the shutout. Baney hit two home runs and freshman Kelsey Witmer (Centre Hall) had two singles.
Penn College next hosts Penn State Mont Alto on Wed., April 13 for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
