The sweep improves the Wildcats to 6-2 in the PSUAC

SCRANTON, Pa. – Sophomore Lacy Lose (Jersey Shore) earned two wins striking out nine as the Pennsylvania College of Technology softball team swept Penn State Scranton 11-1 and 20-8 Thursday. Six players ha multi-hit games as the Wildcats improve to 10-10 overall and 6-2 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

In the opener, Penn College scored two in the first before a big five-run second. Three more runs in the fourth ended the game early. Lose pitched five innings striking out four. Freshman Sabrina Reynolds (Muncy) had two hits and two RBI while sophomore Desiree Buffington (Pillow) went a perfect 3-3 with two RBI. Sophomore Michelle Goodling (Renovo) also added two hits and three RBI.

In game two, the Wildcats scored five runs in both the first and second innings. Ten more runs in the next two innings put the mercy rule in effect and ended the game. Lose earned the win pitching four innings in relief and striking out five.

Sophomore Amber Eck (Williamsport) went 3-5 with three RBI and senior Trisha Moser (Watsontown) had three hits and three RBI. Also, sophomore Holly Raybuck (Bellefonte) had two hits and three RBI.

Penn College next travels to Penn State New Kensington on Mon., April 25 for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
