Sophomore Lacy Lose had 12 strikeouts in game two

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Senior Tiffany Diehm (Mohnton) and sophomore Lacy Lose (Avis) combined for 19 strikeouts as the Pennsylvania College of Technology swept Penn State Schuylkill 9-1 and 8-0 in conference action Tuesday. The Wildcats scored 17 runs between the two contests to end both early. The wins improve the team to 8-2 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference and 12-10 overall.

In game one, Penn College scored eight runs in the first inning capped off by RBI doubles from junior Erin Bannon (Williamsport) and freshman Sabrina Reynolds (Muncy). The team added one more run in the second to make it 9-1. Diehm pitched five innings with seven strikeouts and did not allow a hit. The Lions’ run came off an error in the field.

Bannon finished the game with three RBIs.

In game two, the Wildcats spread out the scoring over six innings. They scored their eighth and final run in the sixth off an RBI double from senior Trisha Moser (Watsontown) ending the game early. Lose struck out 12 and gave up only one hit in the game.

Also for Penn College, Reynolds went 2-4 as did Moser. Bannon was 2-3.

Penn College next travels to Penn State Fayette for a doubleheader on Wed., April 27 at noon.
