Senior Julie Cain took first with partner Danny Wido in the mixed compound competition
HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team captured seven first place trophies at the Adam Wheatcroft Memorial Invitational this past weekend. Individually, senior Zack Plannick (Coraopolis) and freshman Ashley Baker (Coudersport) won the men and women’s compound competitions respectively while sophomore Joseph Dowdrick (Lebanon) won the bowhunter competition.
In the team competitions, Plannick along with junior Danny Wido (Shickshinny) and senior Aaron Lapinski (Bloomsburg) were the victors in men’s compound. Baker and senior Julie Cain (Bellefonte) and sophomore Kjirsten Radencic (Liberty) won the women’s compound competition. The team of junior Glen Thomas (Mercer), senior Tyler Gale (Kennedyville, Md.) and freshman Brandon Allison (Roaring Spring) took the top spot in men’s recurve. Wido and Cain also took first in the mixed compound competition.
Also for Penn College, sophomore Clint Hinton (Lock Haven) placed second in men’s compound while Radencic did the same on the women’s side. Allison took second in men’s recurve with Thomas placing third. Freshman Ashlee Mull (Williamsport) was second in women’s recurve as was freshman Kelvin Dewalt (Easton) in bowhunter.
In the team rounds, sophomore Hilary Fisher (Temple), freshman Allison Hansell (Gillett) and Mull took second in women’s recurve while Thomas and Fisher placed second in mixed recurve.
Next up, the Wildcats travel to the University of Connecticut for the New England Collegiate Archery Tournament starting on Sat., April 9.
