The Wildcats had 15 archers place in the top 10

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Juniors Danny Wido (Shickshinny) and Glen Thomas (Mercer) took top spots in the men’s compound and recurve respectively as the Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team competed in the U.S. Indoor East Regional at James Madison University. In total, 17 members competed in the competition with 15 placing in the top ten of their respective class.

In men’s recurve, senior Tyler Gale (Kennedyville, Md.) came in second behind Thomas. Freshman Brandon Allison (Roaring Spring) took sixth.

In women’s recurve, freshman Ashlee Mull (Williamsport) came in fifth while sophomore Hilary Fisher (Temple) took 12th and freshman Allyson Hansell (Gillett) was 18th.

The Wildcats placed five in the top 10 of the men’s compound. Senior Zach Plannick (Coraopolis) came in second behind Wido while freshman Zack Bixby (Gillett) was fourth and senior Aaron Lapinski (Bloomsburg) was sixth. Sophomore Clint Hinton (Lock Haven) rounded out the group with a 10th place finish.

In the women’s compound, freshman Ashley Baker (Coudersport) came in second and junior Julie Cain (Bellefonte) was right behind at third. Sophomore Kjirsten Radencic (Liberty) finished sixth.

Freshman Kelvin Dewalt (Easton) took second in the bowhunter competition. Sophomore Joseph Dowdrick (Lebanon) placed fourth and sophomore Kyle Bennet (Bellefonte) was fifth.

Penn College will find out its national ranking once all scores are tallied from the eight different regional spots. The team will continue competition on April 2 for the Adam Wheatcroft Memorial Invitational at James Madison.
