Junior Glen Thomas took the top spot in the men's open class, first flight
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Six Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team archers placed at the Early Bird Expo in Bloomsburg Sunday. Junior Glen Thomas (Mercer) took the top sport in men’s open class, first flight in the team’s opening event of the 2011 season.
The Wildcats shot their opening round on Friday afternoon. Thomas scored a 324 out of a possible 330 to qualify. He scored the same on Sunday for the victory.
Senior Tyler Gale (Kennedyville, Md.) placed seventh in the men’s open class, first flight with a final round score of 315. Senior Zack Plannick (Coraopolis) won the men’s open class, second flight shooting a 320. Sophomore Clint Hinton (Lock Haven) came in fourth in men’s open class, second flight with a 311.
On the women’s side, sophomore Kjirsten Radencic (Liberty) shot a 293 to place sixth in the women’s open class, first flight.
In the men’s bowhunter class, sophomore Joseph Dowdrick (Lebanon) was sixth with a 292.
Next, the Wildcats travel to Las Vegas, Nev. on Feb. 11 for the World Archery Festival.
