2010-11 Wrestling: USCAA Dual Meet Tournament-PSU DuBois PSU DuBois/The Apprentice School

DUBOIS, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team competed in its first dual meets at the USCAA Invitational in DuBois Friday. The Wildcats faced off against conference rival Penn State DuBois and capped off the evening with top team The Apprentice School.
In a highly competitive match against DuBois, the Wildcats were edged out 28-24. Both teams came into the match short on players and each forfeited matches. Sophomore Tyler Myers (Centre Hall) captured his second victory of the year with a 19-10 major decision at the 157 class. At 165, senior Ethan Boyd (Roaring Spring) followed with a strong performance recording a fall at 6:48.
Tied at 22 points, freshman Derek Anderson (Ellsworth) gave Penn College the lead with a 7-5 win at 235. DuBois would hold strong and record a fall at the 285 class to earn the victory.
The Wildcats capped off the event against a strong Apprentice school getting defeated 39-6. Freshman Edward Turner (Home) earned his first victory and recorded the only points for Penn College with a fall at 4:20 in the 133 class.
Penn College will return to DuBois on Saturday, Feb. 5 for the USCAA Individual Tournament.
