Penn College honored graduating seniors Kierstin Steer and Samantha Wallish prior to the start of the game
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Tosha Stover (Bellefonte) scored 13 as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team lost 77-52 to Penn State Schuylkill. Sophomore Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) racked up a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
It was a tough first half for the Wildcats as they were outscored 46-22. They shot 11 for 30 (.367) from the floor and were just out-rebounded 24-22. Turnovers were an issue as they committed 17.
Penn College (8-14, 6-7 PSUAC) played better out of the break. A 6-2 run, three from Stover brought the team to 65-41 with 10 minutes remaining. In the half, the Lions just outscored the team 31-30.
For the game, the Wildcats shot 22 for 62 (.355) and had trouble on the line going 7 for 18 (.389). Schuylkill (8-9, 8-6 PSUAC) out-rebounded the Wildcats 48-46.
Also for Penn College, freshman Keiosha Cooksey (Harrisburg) had 12 rebounds.
Penn College will travel to Penn State Hazleton for its final game of the regular season at 6 p.m.The game is a must win for the Wildcats to make the playoffs.
