The Wildcats notched 31 rebounds in the loss to Misericordia
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Despite 10 points from sophomore Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) the Pennsylvania College of Technology dropped its first game of 2011 89-34 to Misericordia University. The Wildcats committed 31 turnovers which led to the scoring onslaught and shot only 24.1 percent from the field. Penn College now drops to 4-4 overall.
In the opening half, Misericordia (6-5, 2-0 MAC) came out hot with a 23-0 run in the first five minutes. Steer would hit a jumper from senior Danielle Trout (Harrisburg) to stop it. The Cougars would have its highest lead at 37-6 with seven left before going into the half up 47-16.
Steer also notched three rebounds and was 2-2 on the charity stripe.
It was much of the same in the second with Misericordia outscoring the Wildcats 42-18.
Penn College shot 66.7 percent from the line. They had 31 rebounds to the Cougars’ 43.
Next up, the Wildcats will travel to Penn State Fayette on Saturday, Jan. 8 for a 1 p.m. conference game.
