Senior Phil Kaylor had 11 points and 7 rebounds in the loss
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Nico Italiani (Easton) scored a season high 22 points as the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball team lost 83-79 to King’s College. Junior Leroy Joiner (Williamsport) notched a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds as the Wildcats fall to 6-10 overall.
Down 44-41 at the half, freshman Ethan Kline (Bellefonte) hit a layup to bring the game within one. Kline finished the game with two and had four rebounds.
It was back and forth play for the next ten minutes with seven lead changes in total. Kings got a cushion off a 7-0 run giving the team a 67-60 lead. They did not give it up for the remainder of the game.
Penn College finished the night with 32 rebounds and was 32-67 (.478) from the field.
In the first half, Joiner opened the game with jumper before Kings sank two threes to gain the lead. Down 14-4, the Wildcats staged a 13-0 run, seven from senior Phil Kaylor (Lebanon), to take a 17-14 lead with 12:30 left.
Kaylor finished the game with 11 points and seven assists.
The Monarchs had a five point advantage before sophomore Allen Regan (Woodbine, N.J.) hit a jumper go into the break down 41-44. Regan finished the game with four in 14 minutes of action.
In the half, the Wildcats went 18 for 32 from the field and were out-rebounded 15-20.
Penn College will next travel to Valley Forge Christian College on Saturday, Jan. 29 for a 3 p.m. game.
