Senior Phillip Kaylor had 12 points against the Lions

MONACA, Pa. – Junior Leroy Joiner (Williamsport) had 15 points and seven rebounds in the Pennsylvania College of Technology’s 71-49 loss to Penn State Beaver Sunday. The Wildcats were tied at 34 at the break but shot poorly and hit only four baskets the entire second half. Senior Phillip Kaylor (Lebanon) rounded out the top scorers with 12.

Down 11 in the first half, Penn College (11-12, 10-3 PSUAC) rallied back to tie at halftime. In the second half, they shot just 4 for 28 (.143) from the field allowing the Lions to build their lead and take the victory. Penn College shot 29.8 percent for game while the Lions were hot shooting 53.1.

Rebounds were also a factor with Beaver out-rebounding the Wildcats 46-29.

Also for Penn College, senior Greg Solyak (Lititz) had nine points while senior Nico Italiani (Easton) had six and notched seven rebounds.

The Wildcats will host Penn State Schuylkill on Tuesday, Feb. 15 for an 8 p.m. game.
