Senior Phil Kaylor sank 10 points against Clarion
CLARION, Pa. – Despite 24 points and 14 rebounds from junior Leroy Joiner (Williamsport), the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball lost to Division II Clarion University 58-83 Saturday afternoon. Senior Phil Kaylor (Lebanon) added 10 points to the mix going 4-8 (.500) from the field.
It was a strong first half from the Wildcats with Joiner hitting a three to open up the game. There would be eight lead changes in the first ten minutes before Clarion (6-0) would hit a layup at 11:34 to take the lead. They would not give it up the remainder of the game.
Clarion would go into the break up 47-29.
As a team, Penn College (3-5) had 32 rebounds to Clarion’s 40. Free throws continue to trouble the Wildcats as they were 6-13 (.462) from the charity stripe.
Penn College will take a break for the holidays and then host Misericordia University on Jan. 5 at 8 p.m.
