Sophomore Travis Cain leads the pack. He finished second in the race.

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s cross country team won the Penn State Scranton Invitational. Freshman Jake Shedden (Canton) set a course record as four Wildcats finished in the top ten. Senior Tamara Pavlov (Lewisburg) was third on the women’s side.

Also for the women, freshman Shannon Abercrombie (Roaring Branch) placed seventh our of 17 runners.

For the men, sophomore Travis Cain (Bloomsburg) came in second running 31:25 while junior Corvin Oberholtzer (Wellsboro) was seventh at 32:13. Junior Seth Beckman (Linden) ran a 32:31 placing ninth.

Also for the men, freshman Edward Knyff (Ocean Gate, N.J.) was 11th at 32:41, freshman William Klaus (Middleburg) was 12th running a 33:13 and sophomore Dan Gwynn (Southampton) was 14th with a 33:48. In total 85 men competed from nine different institutions.

Next up, Penn College will travel to Penn State Fayette for a conference invitational Saturday, Oct. 2.
