Fall 2010 Women's Volleyball: Tri-match at DuBois PSU DuBois

The Wildcats clinched a berth in the PSUAC tournament with the two wins
DUBOIS, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team clinched a berth and the third seed in the PSUAC Championships as they went 2-0 at the Penn State DuBois tri-match Saturday. The Wildcats took on Penn State Scranton first and won easily 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-16) and then took on DuBois and edged them out 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-14). These matches conclude the regular season as Penn College enters post season play 16-6 overall.
Freshman Samantha Davis (North Apollo) led the team with 14 kills on the afternoon. She also notched five blocks. Junior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg) was on point with 46 assists and six service aces.
Also for the Wildcats, freshman Lyndsay Moyer (Canton) had 11 kills and eight digs. Sophomore Tara Powell (Burgettstown) led all players with 15 digs.
With these 3-0 wins, it marks the fourth straight match Penn College has not dropped a set.
The Wildcats will host Penn State Beaver in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.
