The Wildcats split the tri match defeating New Kensingtona and losing to Fayette
MCKEESPORT, Pa. – Freshman Samantha Davis (North Apollo) had 16 kills and 11 blocks and two service aces as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team split a tri-match defeating Penn State New Kensington 3-0 and losing to Penn State Fayette 3-2. The Wildcats are now 13-6 overall and 10-3 in the PSUAC keeping them third in the PSUAC standings.
Penn College had Fayette in the opening match. It was back and forth with momentum as the two teams traded sets. The Lions would take the last set and win 26-24, 25-23, 25-13, 16-25, 15-8.
Against Fayette, the Wildcats had a season high 21 blocks. Freshman Paula Karine Monteiro (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) had 10 kills in the loss.
It was an easier match against New Kensington as Penn College won 25-18, 25-10, 25-11. Freshman Lyndsay Moyer (Canton) had 10 kills.
Junior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg) had 43 assists between the two matches.
Next up, Penn College will host Penn State Brandywine on October 14 at 7 p.m.
