The Wildcats wore special pink uniforms for their annual "Pink Out' fundraiser
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology Women’s Volleyball team defeated both Penn State Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton in straight sets Saturday. Freshman Lindsay Moyer (Canton) notched 12 kills and four blocks to lead all Wildcats for the afternoon. Penn College now improves to 10-4 overall and 7-1 in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference.
It was a 25-19, 25-12, 25-14 victory in the opening match against Wilkes-Barre. Sophomore Tara Powell (Burgettstown) led the team in kills with seven. Junior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley) had the perfect touch with 19 assists. She ended the day with 34 total.
Game two had the Wildcats winning 25-3, 25-16, 25-8 against Hazelton. Moyer was the top performer with seven kills. As a team, Penn College racked up an impressive 13 service aces.
The team also honored senior Jen DeLosa (Bellefonte/Bald Eagle) prior to the start of the match. Delosa finished the day 10 kills and four service aces.
The Wildcats also donned their pink for the second annual Pink Out event to help raise awareness and fund for the American Cancer Society.
Next up, Penn College will host a Penn State – Scranton on Thursday, October 7 at 7pm.
