Fall 2010 Women's Volleyball: Tri-match at Hazleton PSU Brandywine

Sophomore Tara Powell had five kills and three aces against Brandywine
HAZLETON, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team was 2-0 at a Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference doubleheader against Penn State – Brandywine and Schuylkill Sunday. The Wildcats now improve to 8-4 overall and 5-1 in the PSUAC.
In the opening match, Penn College took down Brandywine 27-25, 26-19, 26-24. Freshman Sam Davis (North Apollo/Apollo Ridge) had eight kills and five blocks while sophomore Tara Powell (Burgettstown) added five kills, three aces, and five digs to the mix. Junior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley) notched 23 assists, two kills and three aces.
In the final game of the doubleheader, the Wildcats cruised past Schuylkill 25-12, 25-16, 25-9. Sophomore Alyssa Millard (Sayre) had seven aces, five digs, and three kills. Davis added nine kills and senior Jen DeLosa (Bellefonte/Bald Eagle) was strong with five kills and three aces. Smith was on pace with game one with 22 assists.
Next up, Penn College will host a tri match with Penn State Wilkes Barre and Hazleton on Saturday Oct 2 starting at 1pm.
