Freshman Chris Brennan scored the equalizer in the 59th

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa – A goal in the 88th minute from Misericordia University clinched a 2-1 victory over the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s soccer team. Freshman Chris Brennan (New Hope/New Hope Solebury) scored in the loss as the Wildcats snap a 10 game win streak. Penn College finishes the regular season 13-3 overall while staying 9-0 in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC).

Misericordia (11-7, 3-3 MAC) broke through in the 30th minute to take the lead. Brennan scored on a header for the Wildcats in the 59th minute off a pass from sophomore Ben Shade (Fleewood/Oley Valley) to equalize. Each team had its chances over the next 28 minutes before the Cougars sealed the win.

Senior goalkeeper Dan Shaffer (Shermans Dale/West Perry) had four saves off of 14 Misericordia shots. As a team, Penn College had 13 shots and 8 corner kicks to the Cougars’ 14 and four respectively.

The Wildcats will need to rebound fast from the loss as they go into PSUAC Playoffs when they host Penn State Brandywine in conference semifinals on Wednesday, October 27 at 4pm.
