Freshman Tristan Smith put Penn College on the board in the 46th
MONT ALTO, Pa. – Freshman Chris Brennan (New Hope/NewHope –Solebury) scored the overtime winner as the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s soccer team defeated Penn State Mont Alto 2-1. Brennan’s goal came seven minutes into overtime play off a pass from sophomore Ben Shade (Fleetwood/Oley Valley). The Wildcats now improve to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference.
After a scoreless first half, freshman Tristan Smith (Bermuda, FF/Saint Johnsbury) scored 45 seconds into the second to put Penn College up 1-0. Mont Also would equalize though with five minutes left in the game.
Senior goalkeeper Dan Shaffer (Shermans Dale/West Perry) had four saves on the day. As a team, the wildcats notched 24 shots and 7 corners.
Next up, Penn College will host #7 Washington Adventist on Sunday, September 26 at 4pm.
