WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Despite four saves from senior keeper Dan Shaffer (Shermans Dale), the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s soccer team lost 2-0 to cross-town rivals Lycoming College in the Battle for the Lumber. The Wildcats now drop to 3-2 overall.

Lycoming did not get on the board in the 23rd minute despite having a penalty kick opportunity in the fifth. The Wildcats were outshot 10-7 in the half.

Lycoming added an insurance goal in the 79th minute, while Penn College kept the pressure on, as freshman Tristan Smith (Bermuda, FF) drew a free kick from the right corner, but his shot hit the side of the net.

Next up, the Wildcats will host conference opponent Penn State Schuylkill on Sept. 20 at 5 p.m.
