Junior Rachel Emmons swept her women's first singles opponent 6-0, 6-0
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology tennis team won 9-0 against Penn State Wilkes Barre Saturday. The Nittany Lions were down players and defaulted third and fourth singles and second doubles, but the Wildcats were strong in all other matches and now improve to 8-3 overall.
In singles senior Shane Burridge (Ephrata) won in straight sets 6-3, 7-5 at first singles while senior Robert Kemrer (Milton) played his first match at second singles on the year and won 6-0, 6-1. Burridge and Kemrer teamed up for the first time at first doubles and were victorious 6-2, 6-3.
In women’s action, junior Rachel Emmons (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) blitzed her first singles opponent 6-0, 6-0 while senior Danielle Trout (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) also played strong with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Emmons and Trout partnered in doubles to win 6-3, 6-1.
Penn College will conclude its regular season when it hosts Penn State Brandywine on Wednesday, October 20 at 3pm.
