Senior Robert Kemrer remains undefeated on the season at fourth singles
HAZLETON, Pa – The Pennsylvania College of Technology tennis team won its fifth straight match with a 7-2 win over Penn State Hazleton. Senior Robert Kemrer (Milton) won his fourth singles competition 6-0, 6-1 and remains undefeated on the season. The Wildcats now improve to 5-2 overall and in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference.
Penn College swept all four of the men’s single competition with senior Shane Burridge (Ephrata) winning first singles 6-3, 6-3. Sophomore Brad Fisher (Williamsport/Montoursville) won in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 at second singles. Freshman Jacob Kuska (Mohnton/Holy Name) had a marathon match winning 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 10-8 in third singles. Senior Danielle Trout (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) rounded out the singles winners with a 6-4, 6-2 in women’s second singles.
In doubles, Burridge teamed with junior Adam Groff (Washington Boro/Penn Manor) to win first doubles 8-2. Kemrer and sophomore Alex Clemens (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) won at second doubles 8-1.
Next up, the Wildcats will host Penn State Brandywine on Saturday, October 2 at noon.
