Junior Adam Groff won at first doubles 6-2, 6-1 with partner, senior Shane Burridge
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology tennis team broke a two game losing streak with a dominating 9-0 victory over Penn State Lehigh Valley Saturday. The Wildcats only dropped one set out of the nine matches played.
In doubles action, senior Shane Burridge (Ephrata) and junior Adam Groff (Washington Boro) won 6-2, 6-1. Senior Robert Kemrer and Freshman Jacob Kuska (Mohnton) were strong with a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles. Senior Danielle Trout and junior Rachel Emmons (Washington, N.J.) swept in women’s doubles 6-3, 6-1.
In singles, Burridge won 6-1, 6-3 in the first flight. Sophomore Brad Fisher (Montoursville) had a tough second singles match, but came out victorious 6-3, 3-6, 10-5. Kuska won third singles 7-6, 6-3 while Kemrer had his toughest match of the year at 6-3, 7-5.
The women were strong with Emmons taking first singles 6-1, 6-1 and Trout going 6-0, 6-2 in the second flight.
Next up, the Wildcats will travel to Penn State Hazleton on Sept. 20 at 3 p.m.
