Justus Leimbach took first with partner Nicole Lapinski in the mixed compound competition
STORRS, Conn. – Junior Kendel Baier (Jersey Shore) won the women’s bowhunter competition and freshman Cody Wolfe (Tioga) did the same for the men’s compound as the Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team competed at the Eastern Regional Intercollegiate Archery Championships in Storrs, Conn. this past weekend. The Wildcat won seven events at the two-day tournament on the campus of the University of Connecticut. Baier also won the mixed bowhunter event with senior partner Kelvin Dewalt (Easton) and Wolfe led the men’s compound team of sophomores Matthew Cummings (Mountville) and Markus Weber (La Plata, Md.) to a gold medal.
Dewalt partnered with freshmen Robert Heinrich (Muncy Valley) and Christopher Lafey (Weatherly) to take the men’s bowhunter team competition while junior Nicole Lapinski (Bloomsburg) did the same with senior Ashley Baker (Coudersport) and freshman Abigail Hricko (Nicholson) in women’s compound. Lapinski and junior Justus Leimbach (Westminster, Md.) won the mixed compound competition.
Next up, Penn College travels to Long Beach, Calif. for the U.S. Collegiate Archery Championships starting on May 15.
