The Wildcats went a collective 8-7 on day one of the championships

ALLEN, Texas – Five Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestlers survived day one of the National Collegiate Wrestling Association National Championships in Allen, Texas. Penn College qualified six wrestlers for the event and they collectively went 8-7 on the day. Sophomore Daniel Frankenfield (Dushore) led the team opening his day at 174 2-0 before dropping a 4-2 decision in the third round.

Also for Penn College, freshmen Joe Champluvier (Laceyville) and Troy Leid (Terre Hill) each went 2-1 at 157 while freshman Mason Replogle (New Enterprise) was 2-1 at 141 and freshman Michael Failla (Beach Lake) was the same at 197.

The remaining wrestlers will compete in the consolations rounds beginning at 10 a.m. cst on Friday, Mar. 14.
