Jamie Steer notched 10 rebounds helping the Lady Wildcats out-rebound Brandywine
MEDIA, Pa.: Needing to win its final four conference games of the season to make playoffs, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team lost 88-64 to Penn State Brandywine Thursday night. Penn College led for a good portion of the first half, but quickly feel behind a strong shooting Lions squad. Freshman Charese Bova (Beech Creek) led the team with 21 points and 17 rebounds while freshman Alicia Ross (Williamsport) added 16. The loss now drops the team to 5-16 overall and 3-8 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
Penn College started the game taking a 10-7 lead in the first four minutes of play.
In the final ten minutes of the half, Brandywine took a 19-18 lead. The Penn College offense went cold falling behind and allowing the Lions to stretch their lead and go into the break up 51-32.
In the half, Ross and Bova each had 10 points.
In the second half, Brandywine outscored the Lady Wildcats by only 37-21 but the 19 point lead coming out the break allowed enough of a cushion for the victory.
For the game, Penn College out-rebounded the Lions 63-48. Sophomore Jamie Steer (South Williamsport) had 10 boards in the total.
The Lady Wildcats shot 28 for 76 (.368) for the game with Bova shooting an impressive 10 for 14 (.714).
Next up, Penn College travels to Penn State Scranton on Friday, Feb. 7 for a 6 p.m. game.
