The Lady Wildcats totaled 38 rebounds in the game

MCKEESPORT, Pa. – A 43 point second half from Penn State Greater Allegheny dealt the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team an 82-56 loss Saturday. The Lady Wildcats were down only 39-30 after the first half but the offense surge from the Lions put away any hopes of stealing a victory. Sophomore Danielle Mowery (Shamokin) led the team with 12 points going 5 for 10 (.500) from the field while sophomore Jamie Steer (South Williamsport) added 11. The loss drops the team to 4-14 overall and 3-6 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

Penn College was down 24-4 in the first five minutes of the game. Eight straight points from the team pulled it to within 13 in the 11th.

A layup from freshman Charese Bova (Beech Creek) at 3:50 make it 31-21. Bova finished the game with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Wildcats ended the half on a 6-2 run, two each from Steer, sophomore Margaret Dewire (Beaver Springs) and freshman Alicia Ross (Williamsport) to make it a nine-point game at the break.

Penn College shot 13 for 31 (.419) from the field in the half.

In the second half, the Lions shot an impressive 18 for 35 (.514) from the field stringing together double figure runs throughout.

As a team, the Lady Wildcats totaled 38 rebounds with Dewire adding 10 to the total.

Next up, Penn College travels to Central Penn College on Monday, Jan. 27 for a 6 p.m. game.
