The Lady Wildcats will look to break their losing streak against PSU Wilkes Barre

HAZLETON, Pa. – Freshman Alicia Ross (Williamsport) scored a personal high 18 points as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team lost 72-47 to Penn State Hazleton Thursday. Hazleton led throughout the entire game as the Lady Wildcats struggled with shooting in the first half. The loss now drops the team to 2-12 overall and 1-4 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

Both teams struggled offensively in the opening minutes going scoreless until Hazleton hit a jumper in the 17th. They went on to take a 6-0 lead before a jumper from freshman Charese Bova (Beech Creek) broke the run.

Bova finished the game with eight points and a team-leading eight rebounds.

In the 10th, the Lions went on a 11-1 run to take a 23-9 lead. They closed out the half going into the break up 33-17.

In the half, the Lady Wildcats shot 7 for 35 (.200) from the field and were outrebounded 28-19.

Ross scored all her 18 points in the second half as Penn College scored a total of 30. The team improved its shooting going 9-29 (.310)

Next up, Penn College hosts Penn State Wilkes Barre on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m.
