The Lady Wildcats now fall to 2-11 overall with the loss against Wells

AURORA, N.Y. – Freshman Charese Bova (Beech Creek) recorded 12 points and nine rebounds but it wasn’t enough as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team lost 83-54 to a hot Wells College team Monday. The Express led through the entire game shooting close to 40 percent from the field. Freshman Alicia Ross (Williamsport) added 11 points in the mix including going 3 for 4 from the free throw line. The loss now drops the Lady Wildcats to 2-11 overall.

Out of the gate, Wells (7-5) went on a 6-0 run on its way to scoring 46 first half points. The team shot 20 for 56 (.389) from the field. The Lady Wildcats sank 10 baskets in the half keeping it to within single digits until the last five minutes of the half when Wells went on a tear to go into the half up by 20.

Penn College held the Express to only 37 points in the second half but the damage had been done.

For the Lady Wildcats, freshman Margaret Dewire (Beaver Springs) blocked five shots leading all players. Sophomore Jamie Steer (South Williamsport) gave valuable minutes off the bench scoring eight points in seven minutes of work.

Penn College next travels to PSU Hazleton, on Thursday, Jan. 16 for a 6 p.m. game.
