The Wildcats now fall to 1-11 with the loss to Berkeley
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Marquis Delgado (Mansfield) continued his strong offense scoring 15 points, his third straight game in double figures, as the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball team lost 78-54 against Berkeley College (N.J.) Monday. The Wildcats committed 39 turnovers in the loss but were solid overall in shooting 22-55 (.400). Sophomore Nathaniel Brown (Philadelphia) had a good night with 12 points and five assists going 5 for 8 (.625) from the field. With the loss, Penn College falls to 1-11 overall.
It was a scrappy first half, with both teams taking turns with the lead. Brown hit a three at 16:04 to give Penn College its first lead of the game at 6-4. The team held onto lead until the 10th when Berkeley made three free throws to take a 17-15 lead.
Up 24-21 in the sixth, the Wildcats allowed Berkeley to go on a 10-0 run taking a 31-24 lead with just under a minute. They held onto the lead going into the break up 33-26.
The second half was all the Knights as they cruised to 45 points shooting an impressive 17-35 (.486) in the field. They took their biggest lead of the game at 69-41 with 6:12 remaining.
For the game, the Wildcats totaled 40 rebounds with freshman Thomas Ross (Williamsport) leading with nine.
Penn College next travels to PSU Hazleton, on Thursday, Jan. 16 for an 8 p.m. game.
