LaQuinn Thompson led the team with five rebounds
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Vincent Mauck (Philadelphia) notched 15 points to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball team in its 86-56 loss to Rochester College (Mich.) Monday. The Wildcats were outscored 48-20 in the first half but played a solid second half scoring 36 to the Warriors’ 38. With the loss, Penn College now drops to 0-5 overall.
Freshman Bryce Lonsway (Tiffin, Ohio) hit a three in the 18th of the opening half to tie the game. Rochester then went on a 9-0 run, four each from Zef Deda and Stavros Schizas. From there, the Wildcats countered with their own run scoring five points capped off by two free throws from junior James Boylan (Newton, N.J.) to make it a 12-9 game at 14:19.
Lonsway ended the game with three points and a rebound while Boyland had six and two.
The Warriors then went on to control the game widening the lead until going in to the half with its largest margin at 48-20.
Penn College battled in the second half despite the insurmountable lead. It shot 13-29 (.448) from the field and 8-10 (.800) from the free throw line.
For the game, Penn College totaled 26 rebounds with freshman Laquinn Thompson (York) leading with five.
The Wildcats next travel to Penn State York on Dec. 3 for an 8 p.m. game.
