WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Vincent Mauck (Philadelphia) was 5-7 (.714) from beyond the arc totaling 15 points and leading the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball team against Lycoming College Friday night at the Dutch Burch Tip-Off Tournament. The Wildcats lost 94-77 but showed lots of promise and strong shooting hitting 14 three-pointers in the game. Freshman Bryce Lonsway (Tiffin, Ohio) notched 13 points, freshman Christopher Johnson (Lorton, Va.) had 11 and freshman Marquis Delgado (Mansfield) added 10 in the loss.

Lycoming (1-0) opened the game hot with a 13-0 run before freshman Robert Beckett (Belfast, N.Y.) ended it with a layup. The Wildcats clawed their way back hitting threes to chip at the lead. A layup from Johnson at 8:01 capped off a 5-0 run to make it a 27-24 game.

After keeping it tight over the next four minutes, the Warriors capitalized on fouls and turnovers from Penn College (0-1) building up their lead and going into halftime up 53-39.

In the half, the Wildcats hit nine three-pointers, but committed 14 fouls allowing Lycoming to score 13 points from the line.

Out of the break, the Warriors hit back-to-back layups to make it 56-39. An 11-0 run capped off by a three from Lonsway brought the game to within nine with just over eight minutes left. It was the closest Penn College would get as the Warriors rebounded and built up their lead to as high as 23 before ending the game with the 17-point margin.

For the game, the Wildcats were 14-34 (.412) from three-point land. They were just out-rebounded 40-43. Delgado, Johnson and Lonsway each led with five boards.
