Lacy Lose recorded five strikeouts on the day

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Pennsylvania College of Technology softball team had a tough day three of the Snowbird Softball Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. losing 14-2 to Norwich College and 9-2 to SUNY-IT. Sophomore Casey Davis (New Albany) and freshman Samantha Hill (Montgomery) both recorded multi-hit games on the day. With the losses, the Lady Wildcats fall to 1-5 overall.

Against Norwich, freshman Kimberly Walter (Beavertown) pitched the first three innings strong with six strikeouts and allowing only two runs. She ran into trouble though in the fourth allowing eight runs. Freshman Katie Kratzer (Selinsgrove) came into the game but was unable to get out of the jam giving up four runs. Junior Lacy Lose (Avis) was able to settle things down getting the final outs.

Penn College's runs came early in the game. In the first, freshman Alexandra Brennan (Saint Clair) hit an RBI single to score Kratzer who reached on a single. In the second, Brennan again was the catalyst this time reaching on an error that scored Davis.

Davis ended the gme 2 for 2. As a team, the Lady Wildcats were held to five hits.

Lose got the start in game two pitching five innings with two strikeouts. SUNY IT peppered five runs in the first six innings before putting together a four-run seventh. Freshman Delaney Blubaugh (Waynesboro) pitched the seventh for the Lady Wildcats.

Penn College scored its runs in the sixth and seventh with sophomore Stephanie Koleno (Moshannon) and Brennan recorded the RBI.

In the game, Penn College totaled four hits with Hill going 2 for 3.

The Lady Wildcats finish out the tournament on Mar. 15 taking on Philadelphia University and Waldorf College starting at 9 a.m.
