The game was the last for the Ripken Experience Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Sophomore Zachary Buterbaugh (Conestoga) was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI but the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team lost 9-4 in its final game of the Ripken Experience Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Wildcats trailed throughout the entire game giving up three runs in the third fifth and seventh inning. With the loss, they now fall to 3-5 overall.

Penn College opened the top of the third with two runs with RBI from both junior Cody Buterbaugh (Conestoga) and Zachary Buterbaugh. After pitching two scoreless innings, junior starter Brian Santangelo (Middletown, Conn.) could not hold the lead allowing three off of three hits in the bottom. He allowed three more in the fifth before sophomore Matthew Demilio (Greensburg) came in to end the inning.

Santangelo ended the day with five earned runs, two strikeouts and two walks in four innings of work.

After Demilio allowed three more runs in the seventh, freshman Seth Bowersox (Port Royal) closed out the game allowing no hits in 2/3 inning of work.

The Wildcats' final two runs came in the bottom of the seventh when Cody Buterbaugh reached on an error that scored both Zachary Buterbaugh and sophomore Craig Watson (McEwensville).

Also for Penn College, junior Joshua Longsderff (Coumbia) finished the game 2 for 4.

Next up, the Wildcats host Luzerne County Community College on Saturday, Mar. 23 for a noon double header.
