2012-13 Women's Basketball: PSU Scranton

The Lady Wildcats must now beat PSU Scranton on Sunday to earn a berth into the playoffs
SCRANTON, Pa. - Senior Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) notched 18 points in the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's basketball team's 76-52 loss to Penn State Scranton. The loss drops the team to 6-7 in the Penn State University Athletics Conference. With only one more conference game remaining, against Scranton, the Lady Wildcats are in a must-win situation to qualify for a playoff berth. Sophomore Jenna Matzinger (Coudersport) added 10 points and 16 rebounds in the loss.
Sophomore MacKenzie Brown (Lititz) hit a jumper to open up the game and give Penn College (11-11, 6-7 PSUAC) its only lead of the game. The Lions countered and quickly built up a 14-6 lead. They went into the break up 39-27.
Scranton controlled the pace in the second never giving up the lead. The team hit 11 from beyond the arc helping the cause.
In the game, Penn College shot 21-60 (.350) from the field and was out-rebounded 52-37.
Next up, the Lady Wildcats travel to Southern Virginia University for their last non-conference game on Saturday, Feb. 9 at noon.
