Kierstin Steer had 16 points in the game

DUBOIS, Pa. - With four players in double digits, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team defeated Penn State DuBois 71-60 in conference action Saturday. Freshman Jamie Steer (South Williamsport) led the team with 22 points and added 10 rebounds while senior Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) notched 16 points. The win is the third straight and improves the team to 11-8 overall and 6-4 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

Also for Penn College, sophomore Jenna Matzinger (Coudersport) had a double-double with 12 points and rebounds and sophomore Mackenzie Brown (Lititz) had 13 points and nine rebounds.

It was a tight first half with back and forth scoring between the teams. The Lady Wildcats went into the break up on 32-31. They led throughout the entire second half, even with DuBois keeping it close. With five minutes remaining, they pulled away and took the 11 point victory.

As a team, Penn College out-rebounded the Lions 45-44 and shot 27-62 (.430) from the field.

Next up, the Lady Wildcats travel to Penn State Fayette on Sunday, Feb. 3rd for a noon game.
