The Lady Wildcats are now 3-2 in the PSUAC
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Jamie Steer (South Williamsport) recorded her fourth double-double of the year with 25 points and 12 rebounds as the Pennsylvania College of Technology lost 67-55 to Penn State Greater Allegheny. The Lady Wildcats shot just 20-60 (.333) from the field in their first game back on the court since Dec. 17th. The loss drops the team to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
The Lions took an early lead through the first six minutes of play. With the score 7-6, a jumper from Steer gave Penn College it’s only lead of the game at 14:03. The Lions quickly took back the lead with a good layup by Nakayla Layne and built up it up to as high as 11.
Lane ended the game with 14.
Steer ended the half with a 4-0 run to make it 37-33 at the break. In the half, the Wildcats shot 12-32 (.375) from the field.
Greater Allegheny came out on fire in the second half building to a 15-point lead with just over 15 to play. At 3:23 a layup from sophomore Jenna Matzinger (Coudersport) brought the game to within nine, but the Lions held on for the 12-point win.
Greater Allegheny’s Taylor Fulton led all scorers with 23 points and added 13 assists. For Penn College, sophomore Dana Reed (Sunbury) notched 10 rebounds.
Next up, the Lady Wildcats travel to Penn State Hazleton for a 6 p.m. match on Wednesday, Jan. 16.
