The Wildcats will look to bounce back from the loss when they travel to PSU York on Thursday
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Nathaniel Brown (Philadelphia) notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball team lost 66-55 to Penn State York Tuesday. Sophomore Scott Fenton (Dickson City) led the team with 16 points and sophomore Jesse Newman (Waterfall) had 13. With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 4-18 overall and 3-10 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
Penn College took an early lead in the first when sophomore Nicholas Deleon (Bronx, N.Y.) hit a jumper making it 2-1. Deleon ended the game with two points and three rebounds.
With York up 20-9, the Wildcats countered with a 9-0 run, four from Brown, to bring it to within two with just over seven to play.
The Lions ended the half on a 5-0 run going into the break up 35-24. In the second, they came out and made it a double digit game with a 39-26 lead at 18:53.
Two free throws from Newman in the 10th brought the game to within five at 52-47. The next three minutes were tight, but York slowly started to put in some cushion and ended the game with the 11 point lead.
For the game, the Wildcats shot 20-61 (.328) from the field and were just out-rebounded by York 45-44. Brown led with 10 rebounds.
For York, Josh Jamison totaled 16 points and Logan Steckel added 14.
Next up, Penn College travels to Penn State Scranton for an 8 p.m. game on Thursday, Feb. 7.
