ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Sophomore Jesse Newman (Waterfall) scored 18 points and added 13 rebounds as the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's basketball team defeated Penn State Lehigh Valley 69-65 Monday. The win is the second straight for the Wildcats as they improve to 3-11 overall and 2-4 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. Freshman Christopher Carrington (Ridley Park) also helped the cause with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Penn College led throughout the first half going into the break up 36-23. Down by 20 in the second, Lehigh Valley slowly started to climb back and make it a tight game in the closing minutes. Strong ball handling and key shooting allowed Penn College to hold on for the four-point victory.

As a team, the Wildcats totaled only 10 turnovers and outrebounded the Lions 41-36. They shot 22-28 (.786) from the free throw line with Newman going 13-15 (.867).

Next up, Penn College travels to Penn State Hazleton on Wednesday, Jan. 16 for a 8 p.m. game.
