Kelly Hebert had nine blocks on the day

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology opened up conference play perfectly defeating Penn State DuBois and Penn State Hazleton in a tri-match. The Wildcats didn’t drop a set all day winning 3-0 in both matches. Sophomore Kelly Hebert (Wellsboro) was strong at the net notching nine blocks in the two games. The Wildcats now improve to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

Penn College dominated in game one against DuBois winning 25-4, 25-11, 25-12. Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) led with eight kills and seven service aces. Freshman Morgan Moberg (Huntingdon) had 13 assists while sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) added seven kills and nine assists.

Hazleton proved to be a tough opponent, but the Wildcats fought their way to a 25-21, 25-15, 25-18 victory. Powell again led with eight kills and had 11 digs and two aces. Hebert was hot with five kills and seven blocks. Curley added five kills and led with 13 assists.

Next up, the Wildcats travel to Penn State Wilkes Barre for a 7 p.m. match on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
