Mike Paulhamus

Coach Paulhamus has been one of the most successful coaches at Penn College since his start in 2001.  He has been named Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year ten times and Women’s Cross Country Coach two times.  Since starting in the PSUAC, his men’s teams have been undefeated capturing ten consecutive conference championships.  In 2009, the Wildcat men had their best finish of the season as the USCAA National Runners-Up.

Born and raised in the area, Paulhamus ran cross country for Williamsport Area High School and was a qualifier for the PIAA State Tournament.  After graduating, he attended Williamsport Area Community College and graduated in 1977 with an Associate’s Degree in General Studies.  He then attended Lock Haven University and in 1979 graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education.

As a coach, Paulhamus started his career at Penn College.  In his tenure, his men’s teams have posted an impressive 313-156-2 (.667) record while the women have been equally as strong at 80-34-1 (.700).

In addition to Penn College, Paulhamus has also been a track coach for South Williamsport High School serving as a volunteer and assistant before a six year stint as head from 1999-2005.  From 2007-08, he served as an assistant at Williamsport Area.

Paulhamus recently retired from the Department of Welfare.  He resides in South Williamsport with his wife Donna.
