Coach Hawkins takes over the men's volleyball program for the 2013-14 season bringing a ton of experience to the position.
From 2000-2012, Coach Hawkins was the head coach of the women’s volleyball program. Posting an overall record of 184-113 (.619) in her tenure, she has guided the Lady Wildcats to nine consecutive post season appearances including conference championships in 2004 and 2012. In 2004, she was also named the PSUAC (then the CCAC) Women’s Volleyball Coach of the Year. Under Hawkins guide, the program has also produced 25 PSUAC All-Conference players.
In 2011, she led the Wildcats to the PSUAC Championships earning second place. The team earned its first-ever bid to the USCAA National Tournament in Louisville, K.Y. The following year in 2012, the team posted its best result earning a PSUAC co-championship with PSU Fayette and its second bid to the USCAA national tournament, this time in Canton, N.Y.
After graduating from Mountain View High School in Bend, Ore., Hawkins attended the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. There she studied Civil Engineering and was a three-year letter winner for the women’s volleyball and basketball teams.
From there, Hawkins relocated to the Williamsport area where she graduated from the Williamsport Hospital & Medical Center Paramedic Training Institute as a nationally registered paramedic. She also earned her Bachelor’s of Applied Health Studies from Penn College.
Hawkins is a full-time Learning Lab Coordinator in the Paramedic Technology department at Penn College. She is also a part-time paramedic for Susquehanna Regional Emergency Medical Services in addition to being an International Trauma Life Support Affiliate faculty member.
